Ah, September 5. I thought we'd never get here. There is nothing special about this date. It's just past September 2 :P Last week was pretty crazy. I am so glad it's over. And soooo happy with how it ended :) Last Thursday we did finally get a positive beta after 5 IVF transfers. We are by no means out of the woods yet. But we are just taking things one day at a time and trusting and praising God. I hope it's a good sign that I could barely eat my yogurt this morning...and I normally love yogurt. We have our 2nd beta this Wednesday. VERY anxious for that. It will tell if things are progressing normally. And maybe give a clue as to the likelihood of multiples. Aside from pregnancy crazyness this week will be very different because Justin is in France! He left yesterday afternoon. It's very quite around here. Rebecca and I are going to try to stay busy to make the week go by faster. Today is church. Tomorrow we're not doing anything special for Labor Day. But my parents are stopping by in the afternoon for a bit. Rebecca is always excited to get to see her grandparents. Not sure if we'll do anything in the morning. Maybe go to the park or something. Tuesday is the farmer's market. No other plans. But maybe we'll see if the neighbors can play. Wednesday morning will be busy, nerve racking and fun. First we'll be off to the Dr. for my 2nd blood test. We'll then head to our first Kindermusik class of the semester! Rebecca and I are so excited to see Miss Lynette and all of our friends. After KM we'll probably make a quick stop at Meijer. Then back home to nervously wait for results again. Thursday morning I have an appt. with my psychologist. I haven't seen her since March. There will be a lot to fill her in on :) And finally good stuff for once. No plans for Friday yet. We might go to Hefron Farms to get some more seafood. We'll see. Else maybe the park, the library or play with the neighbors. Then Saturday we're going to the GRCM to see the Curious George exhibit with my brother, SIL, nephew and my parents. Rebecca is beyond excited...she gets to see CG and Carson! After the museum we'll have a picninc lunch at a local park. In the evening Justin comes home!!! It will be a crazy and fun week.
Meals this week will be pretty simple. Just healthy food that Rebecca and I like...and that is easy to make :) The fewer dishes the better since I'll have to do them all myself this week :P And of course food that I can stomach. So far I've been feeling pretty good and able to eat well. But you never know. This morning my stomach is a little off and things taste odd. It can change over night.
Last week I squeezed in a few extras despite the chaos. I canned another batch of spaghetti sauce, made 4 loaves (1 large, 3 mini) of sourdough bread, made ice cream (gotta have something "healthy" on hand for my cravings:), soaked/dried almonds and pecans (they are both still drying right now), made mud balls and made a batch of granola for Rebecca.
Not sure what this week will bring. I'm trying to take it easy and not generate a huge mess in the kitchen. I want to get to bed on time/early when possible. I seem to be a little more tired than usual these days :P I'll probably skip peaches again. I just don't have the time without Justin to help with Rebecca. Maybe next week if good peaches are still available. But we'll see. Justin will be gone every night Mon. - Thurs. next week. So not much help then either. I would like to make a batch of chocolate graham crackers, dry some apples, make more grain free granola (went through my last batch very quickly) and make a peach pie. If Rebecca and I are bored maybe I'll come up with some other baking projects. But that's all I'm putting on my list for now.
Aside from that I'll probably be calling about raw milk this week. Get some more details and then talk it over with Justin and make our decision. I still have to decide about the cheese making class. I would really like to go. My only concern is that I won't be feeling good enough by the 18th. That will be around 7 weeks...right when things get really bad. And I'm guessing there are some pretty strong smells in a cheese class :P I also need to talk about their farm tour and potentially make plans with my SIL to go to that.
That's all for now. Just taking things one day at a time. Each day is so different right now. I just can't predict what I'll be up for. My main goals are to take care of Rebecca and take care of myself/the baby(ies). Nothing else is urgent.
Here are the tentative meal plans. I have a couple options most days...just depends how much we have for leftovers each day.
“My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

We're looking forward to seeing you guys on Saturday! My thoughts for our picnic lunch are very similar to yours with the bologna. I'm hoping the forecast changes - last night it showed rain! We should probably think about a back up plan if its raining. Are any of the organic/local restaurants nearby??
ReplyDeleteGood luck this week with Justin gone. Hope it goes by quickly! Kevin is going next week to Europe.
For a backup, would you be interested in eating our packed lunches at our house? The kids could even have a picnic on the floor if they want. I'd just prefer not to go to a restaurant. Our house is about 15 min. from the museum.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Kevin going?
That's fine. We can plan on that as backup.
ReplyDeleteKevin is going back to Germany. A different place than he went last time... I can't remember what its called... I think its north of Frankfort. What part of France is Justin in?
Justin is about 45 min. from Paris. I think it's calle Sergie (no idea how to spell that :P). At their France JCI facility. Today is his first day of "work" there. Hope it goes well. Crazy to think it's about 1:00pm there.
ReplyDeleteI hope Kevin has a good trip and you guys have a good week. I don't know about you, but I don't like being alone for a whole week. Glad we have a decent amount of stuff to keep us busy.
