Meal Plans Week of 11-21-10

Is it really the week of Thanksgiving already?  The last couple months have kind of been a blur.  And all of a sudden it's the holidays!  This week there won't be much meal planning.  We'll be traveling Tues. - Fri. to see my in-laws.  But there will still be plenty to do to prep for that.

Last week I think I finally started to really feel better.  I have a little more energy in the evenings.  And I even ate yogurt for the first time in 2 months!  Very exciting.  I was also pretty busy around the house.  I ended up doing more extras than planned because Rebecca was in the mood for baking :P  I tried a few new recipes.  We made hot fudge, breakfast cookies, kefir, granola, vanilla wafers, brownies and orange muffins.  I also finally got around to grinding flour.  And froze some hashbrowns.  I also finished my first sewing project and started on the next.  I cleaned the fridge more.  Cleaned our iron.  Organized some of Rebecca's toys (put a bunch upstairs that she doesn't use much).  And I finished a book that I had started a while ago...but then couldn't read it for a while because I could never stay awake :P  Not too bad.  I still have my bad moments/days.  But doing a lot better for sure.  I just wish sweets didn't make me sick.  I can still only handle small amounts.  Not good for the holidays!

On to this week.  Today is church and packing.  I want to get as much packing done as possible today so that I'm not stressed tomorrow.  I was hoping to start yesterday, but there was a little girl that only napped 20 min.  So I didn't have time :P  Monday is groceries, more packing and getting all of our food prepped for the trip - lunch in the car, snacks, etc.  Tuesday morning Justin will get our milk while I get Rebecca ready.  Then we're off to WI.  We'll be back Friday evening.  Saturday will be unpacking, laundry, etc.  Plus we'd like to shop for tile so we can get our basement bathroom finished in the next few weeks.  Maybe the next week I can actually start some Christmas shopping!  That is creeping up way too fast.

In pregnancy news, I'm now 15 weeks 1 day.  Showing more than I had expected.  But that's ok.  When you work so hard to get pregnant you want everyone to know...and people know now :)  I've already had multiple people ask me if I'm pg :P  The exciting thing from last week is that I'm starting to feel the baby move a little!  It's still just little flutters and taps here and there.  But very exciting.  I can't wait until the kicks get harder and Rebecca can feel it!  How fun.  Hard to believe I'll be half way through this pregnancy in a few weeks.

Well, on to the menu.  Mostly just trying to use things up and not generate leftovers.

  1. Glad you are feeling better! Nice accomplishments last week, too.

Have fun on the trip to Wisconsin! Hopefully the traffic won't be too crazy in Chicago with the holiday travel.
