Healthy Living Goals Week of 9-27-09

This week I have one main goal...get rid of my cold! :P I will do my best to not push myself too hard so that I can get enough rest and get better quickly. As long at that happens we have 3 days in a row of fun stuff...Kindermusik, visiting my grandparents and MOPS. I am very excited about MOPS. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new women...especially some women that live nearby. We haven't decided on our weekend plans yet. But mabye we'll do something fun as a family on Saturday. Like go to a local orchard for hay rides, etc.

I'm working on making plans with friends...but that probably won't be this week. No cake this week :P I spent enough time on that last week. Not sure what other projects I'll be doing around the house. I have to sew a button back on one of Rebecca's shirts. Does that count? :)

I need to call the local meat market and order some chicken. Since I finally found a market close by that has good stuff I want to stock our freezer for the winter. Then next spring we'll order some of the organic chicken from Justin's co-worker.

I'm enjoying reading my cookbooks. I'm finding lots of good recipes to try. I'm currently reading Robin Miller's Quick Fix Meals. One of my favorites! I love her techniques of planning and prepping ahead. Plus she is a nutritionist. So her meals are healthy too. And she uses ingredients that most people have on hand. So I don't have to buy a ton to make any of the recipes.

I'm going to add to our pantry this week with homemade spaghetti sauce, pearsauce and possibley canned pears. The shelves are filling up quickly :) Pretty soon I'll be filling my applesauce shelf.

I guess that's enough for this week. I'll have new monthly goals later in the week. I just need to figure out what they'll be!

  1. I need to look through my QFM cookbook sometime. Its been sitting on the shelf since I picked it up.
