Farmer's Market

Yesterday was the last day of our local farmer's market. I was hoping to stock up on a few things. But I was sad to see that there were only 2 produce stands left. And 2 other stands - bread and kettle corn. So I didn't get much. Oh well. Our traveling farmer's market (Justin's parents:) will be here next Friday bringing some yummy produce from their garden. Can't wait for that! Here's what I ended up with yesterday:

5 peppers - red, yellow, green and purple (to freez)
1 bunch carrots (to freeze or use fresh)
1 bunch red leaf lettuce (to eat fresh)
1 small bag of kettle corn (had to have it one more time :)
1 small pumpkin

  1. Bummer about the lack of stands!! But at least your in-laws are bringing you lots of great stuff!! Did your carrots get eaten up by the rabbits, too??

  2. They just didn't grow well. Same as last year. Not sure why we can't seem to grow carrots! They are all tiny. Forgot to mention I got 1 pumpkin at the farmer's market.

  3. Some of ours are small, too. But we are getting lots of good-sized ones, too. I need to go back and read a couple things that I've bookmarked. I think I found what the problem is, but I can't remember the details... something with the makeup of the soil and having to add something to it. I'll let you know once I have time to go back and read through my bookmarks for it... probably not anytime soon, though... but we don't really need to know till spring.
