Meal Plans Week of 11-8-09

Another week has come and gone. I didn't get as much done/get out as much last week as I would have liked (we had to skip Kinermusik and MOPS :( ). But Rebecca and I came down with colds. So we took it easy. Thankfully they haven't been bad. I also had to focus my attention on a cake and prepping for overnight guests. At least Rebecca loves to bake (she asks to do it every day!), so if I have a baking project I can usually get that done. But other cooking stuff (like applesauce, etc.) has to wait until she's asleep...but so does just about everything else :P Hopefully this week will be a little more productive.

Justin has stuff going on 3 nights this week, so I won't have much free time in the evenings. But I'll do what I can. Friday Justin and I are going on a date! :) Some generous friends offered to watch Rebecca so we could go out. We are going out for dinner. We haven't decided where yet. But we're really looking forward to it.

For food I'm really sticking to my fall theme this week. As long as my meal plans don't change I will be using apples, potatoes, carrots, onion, squash and pumpkin this week. I'm still looking for more pumpkin recipes to try. So far I've enjoyed everything I've made. And I'm planning to do a couple batches of applesauce and bake/freeze some squash. That should make a good dent in our stock of fall produce :)

Other than that I have to go grocery shopping, possibly make a stop at the meat market, and we have Kindermusik.

I don't have any special breakfasts planned for this week yet. Maybe if time allows I can do some more baking and try something new.

Here are the meals for this week:

S - (EW, church, teach BLAST, applesauce, meatless) - white bean and apple chili, pumpkin muffins (lunch), salad (dinner)
M - (applesauce, Justin has council) - pumpkin muffins, cereal, fruit (breakfast); pork chops and apples over rice, roasted squash (dinner)
T - (Meijer, meatless) - butternut squash risotto, peas, pumpkin muffins, applesauce
W - (EW, KM, meat market, Justin has missions cmt, early dinner, applesauce) - fried chicken, baked potatoes, carrots
Th - (applesauce, package chicken, Target, Justin has class) - pumpkin muffins, cereal, fruit (breakfast), salad/leftovers (dinner)
F - (clean, date night) - white chicken chili and beer bread for the baby-sitters, Outback Steakhouse for us
S - (clean, laundry, BLAST leader mtg) - pumpkin pancakes w/ strawberry topping (from freezer), bacon

  1. Looks like some super yummy meals this week! Fall flavors are the best!! Good luck getting everything done. You should let Rebecca help with the applesauce - I bet she'd love it! Carson helps me quite a bit when I do mine. Turning the handle on the corer/peeler, putting the apples into the pan (with no heat on it yet), and even running them through the food mill. He loves it.
