Healthy Living Goals Week of 10-18-09

Well, Rebecca seems to be sleeping again! Thank the Lord. She has actually been sleeping a lot this past week. I wonder if she's going through a growth spurt. Anyway, it sure was a nice treat for me. I even squeezed in a couple naps last week :P It sure helps me get a few things done when she slees well.

Last week we went to Kindermusik and MOPS. Both were great as usual. And Kevin (Justin's brother) visited yesterday. It was fun to chat with him for a bit. We hadn't seen him since early July. This week we'll have quite a few opportunities to get out as well. Tomorrow I have a nursery cmt. meeting. So Justin will be home with Rebecca...and I get an hour or so out by myself, socializing with other women :) Wed. is Kindermusik. Friday we have a MOPS play date. And then Justin's parent's will be here that evening.

I'm already getting pretty nervous about jury duty next week. But I'm trying not to think too much about it. I know God will take care of it. I can call Friday evening to find out if I have to go in Monday morning. We'll see.

Last week Rebecca and I ironed leaves between wax paper. And we made fairy wands out of cardboard and straws. We also made graham crackers (she calls them her special cookies :). I'm hoping we can play outside a bit this week. And maybe Rebecca can help me with some more baking.

I might be making a cake for my SIL's recital in a couple weeks. So there is a chance I could start on some of it this week (if I get the order/specifics) since I don't know what I'll have time for next week. I at least would like to start the planning.

Justin and I are also planning another date night! A former neighbor offered to baby-sit for us. So we will probably go out for dinner in a few weeks. We're looking forward to that. We really need to make more of an effort to go out just the two of us. Maybe that will be one of my new goals...date night once a month.

Here's the rundown for the week:

~Kindermusik
~MOPS playdate
~in-laws over
~play outside
~baking
~plan/design cake
~plan date night

  1. Just a thought about jury duty... I know that we should all view it as a privilege to serve our country, but if you need a reason to get out of it (and if you're still nursing), nursing mothers can usually opt-out of jury duty in most states.
