Chicken

I finally got around to ordering chicken this week. I was waiting for it to go on sale, which it did this week. But in the end I don't think it mattered since I got a cheaper price by buying it in bulk. I ended up getting 40 lbs. of boneless skinless chicken breast for $1.72/lb. Not bad! Although it did require that I package it all myself. I also got a few legs and 2 good size roasters. All of that for under $100. I'm excited that now we have a freezer stocked with lots of good beef and chicken. Maybe sometime I'll do some bulk orders of other meats, like pork and lamb. But for now this is good. I picked up all the chicken on Wed. I cut the breasts in half (they were full breasts, not split) and trimmed the fat on Wed. And vacumm sealed the chicken legs. Then yesterday I vacumm sealed all of the breasts. A little extra work on my part, but much cheaper meat :) And now we should be set on chicken for quite a while.
