Meal Plans Week of 1-3-10

First full week of January...back to work, back to school, back to normal routines and lots to get done!  This will be a busy week.  I'm still trying to get caught up/get the house back in order after the holidays.  Our house seems to be overflowing with toys right now.  So one of my to-dos for this week is to organize the toys.  Justin just finished painting Rebecca's new toybox, so now I can put a bunch of toys in there in her new room and just keep a few downstairs.  Then I can periodically rotate toys so she doesn't get bored/isn't overwhelmed with a mound of toys.  And maybe the living room won't look like a disaster area even when it's "cleaned up."  We have quite a few other things going on this week.  Church and Sunday school today.  I have to get to the store and restock my fridge either Mon. or Tues.  It's pretty bare right now.  Wed. is Kindermusik.  But since it's the last day for the semester we have an evening class/open house.  So we'll need a very early dinner, and I have to make goodies to bring along.  Justin has church stuff on Wed.  Thurs. Justin starts a new semester of school.  So back to just Rebecca and me on Thursdays.  In the morning Rebecca will be getting her second dose of the H1N1 vaccine.  Friday I have nursery duty for our MOPS steering team (each small group takes turns).  We are still finalizing our plans for Sat.  We might go to the GR Children's Museum in the morning with my brother and SIL.  In the afternoon we are going to the Calvin basketball game.  After the game we'll probably have dinner with my parents.  I still have to figure out if we're going out to eat or coming back here.

In addition to our outings I have some baking to catch up on.  I'd like to make a batch of granola, hot fudge, graham crackers, vanilla wafers and possibly some bread.  And I have to get my stand mixer washed and ready to use.  If I have time I could also make an extra batch of graham crackers and some sugar pecans for our MOPS meeting next week.  But those can wait if need be.

Finally I need to look for some new soup and bread recipes to try.  If you have any good ones please pass them along.  My SIL gave me some recipes of their faves for Christmas, so I'll have to look through those too.

Here are the meal plans for this week:

S - (church, BLAST, make grahams) - chicken noodle soup in the crockpot, zucchini bread (from freezer) (lunch); leftover pizza (Justin), misc. (me) (dinner)
M - (make hot fudge, Meijer) - spaghetti, peas, breadsticks
T - (organize toys, make granola) - chicken and broccoli couscous, pearsauce
W - (clean basement, KM, WT, early dinner, meatless) - egg puffs w/ pumpkin, pearsauce, scones
Th - (H1N1 vaccine, make vanilla wafers) - salad (me), leftover chicken broccoli couscous (Justin)
** So Justin just realized his class doesn't start until next week!  So, he'll be home on Thurs.  I think I'll still have salads for dinner.
F - (MOPS nursery, meatless) - goat cheese and roasted corn quesadillas, white bean avocado dip, salsa, pearsauce
S - (Calvin basketball game, parents over for dinner) - TBD meal in the crockpot
