Food and Personal Goals of the Month - February

So, this month really snuck up on me.  I've been so busy lately and focused on planning for cakes in the next few weeks that I really did not give any thought to Feb. goals.  I've actually had meals planned for half of the month for a while now...without any food focus in mind.  So this month will be a bit hodge-podge.  One main goal will be cakes.  I am making a birthday cake for my dad this Saturday.  I am making 2 birthday cakes for my nephew for next Saturday.  And there is a chance I could be making another cake for my mom the following Saturday. That will keep me plenty busy.  And with that going on my meal focus is generally quick and easy.  So, maybe that should be my food goal this month...quick and easy.  Something all moms are looking for :)  During the 2nd half of the month I'd also like to start dealing with my beans.  I have quite a few dried beans I want to use/can.  So that will be another goal, for later in the month, meals with beans and possibly (finally) canning beans.  I will continue to try new baking projects as time allows, hopefully getting some more use out of my stand mixer.

For personal goals I want to keep working on portion control and overall healthy eating.  And trying new things for breakfast.  I haven't had boughten cereal for 3 days in a row now.  Quite something for me :P  And I haven't had any big brand cereals in about a week (yea!)  It will be good for our health and our wallet...cereal is expensive!  Especially good quality cereal.

I also want to keep working on self feeding with Rebecca...focusing on using her spoon.  And being more proactive about potty training...meaning educating myself and actually do some research/reading so I don't feel clueless about it :P

Of course I will continue to work on my overall goals for the year that I mentioned last month.

Like I said, this is kind of a misc. month.  There are lots of little things here and there that I want to do/focus on (plenty of stuff I didn't even mention).  But not much for big/main goals.  Maybe next month I'll have a better focus.  Here's the recap:
