Quick recap of this crazy month. I actually got a lot done. And made progress on figuring out what direction to continue on for my health. Still plenty to do next month. More to come tomorrow.
FOOD
1. Eating for pregnancy - check. I've been eating seafood anywhere from 1 to 4 times a week. Plus my daily cod liver oil. Hope baby's brain is growing well :)
2. Grains - I only ate wheat products that were soaked, sprouted or sourdough. And that was only once a week at most. Aside from that I avoided gluten. And by the end of the month I was pretty much grain free. I think I'm starting to notice a difference now.
3. Coconut oil. I've been trying to get some every day - in smoothies, homemade nut butters and gf baked goods.
4. I made carob cake from Nourishing Traditions.
5. Cooking/baking - I made my birthday cake and homemade frosting. I've been grinding more regular flour and sprouted flour. I made healthier gf scotcheroos and homemade cherry bars. Plus lots of other goodies.
6. Freezer foods - Got a few more soups and quick breakfasts in the freezer.
7. I got the GAPS book and am reading it. I am already incorporating some things. More to come on that.
HEALTH
Trying to keep up with some of my health goals. Others have gone out the window with everything else going on . At least I'm keeping up with my daily kegels :)
FAMILY/PERSONAL
1. Sewing - I made Rebecca's princess dress, princess bag, 4 bibs and a bunch of cloth wipes. That may be all of my sewing projects for a while.
2. Be creative - 1 birthday cake
3. Activities and Outings - Trying to keep up with most of these. I have stopped doing Anna's Circle (book study). No mini vacation. But at least we got to have a fun family day and see Disney Princess on Ice. Justin and I had a date night. And I got my hair cut.
4. Rebecca - Still working on potty training. We're getting there, but sadly she has mommy's bladder :P We did get her new room done, and she's been sleeping in there for a few weeks. We also just started naps there. Sleep is a bit off right now :( Not so happy about that. Hopefully she'll get fully adjusted soon so she's not getting out of bed so much at bed time and in the morning (mostly claiming she has to go potty when she really doesn't). Party plans are well under way. I've started baking cake. I have all of the deco, presents, etc. And the meals are planned.
5. Organize - Rebecca's room and the nursery are both set!
6. Get out baby gear/toys - baby stuff is out. I still have to clean a few things. We now have our baby monitor and a new motor for the baby swing. We're skipping the double stroller for now. So all of the big stuff is set.
7. The basement bathroom project is almost done!!! A few unpleasant days of having someone working in our basement day...making it smell like smoke. But thankfully the shower stall is done now. Just the finishing touches one day next week. Then we can get it cleaned up and finished.
