August already. I can't believe we'll be thinking about fall soon. And school...yikes! I'm not ready for that. August will probably be pretty busy with various activities and getting ready for the fall. I've been doing lots of research on health stuff lately and I think I have decided on some direction. Here's what I've got planned.
FOOD
1.
Balance/Commitment - I will continue to work on balance in terms of my eating/diet. But I also want to be fully committed to trying to eat for my body (foods I tolerate and a good balance of protein, fat and carbs) and eating very nutrient dense foods. I really need to try to get more broth in my diet again (more like 1-2 cups a day instead of 1/2 cup a day). I will focus on foods that are rich in minerals. I will also focus on soft, easily digested foods. But I also continue to try things that are on my no good list once in a while. For example I've eaten almonds the past few days because I know they are really high in magnesium. No major backlash so far. Once in a while I can be daring and get a little variety without any repercussion.
2. Rebecca's
Recipes - continue to let Rebecca plan one meal a week. Tonight it's chicken and rice lasagna. Yesterday we made sourdough graham balls.
3.
Sourdough - I need to find some new sourdough recipes to
try.
4. Food preservation - blueberries, beans,
zucchini, peaches?, corn
5. Hydration - I want to be sure I'm staying hydrated. To do so I would like to try drinking/using coconut water. It is full of minerals and is hydrating.
HEALTH
1. Supplements - I will continue to take cod
liver oil and vitamins.
2. Naturopath - I mentioned before looking for a naturopath. After some searching and thinking I'm going to hold off for now. I'm not mentally ready for a whole new round of testing, diet, etc. Not to mention I don't like the idea of paying everything out of pocket :P So for the moment I am going to try getting some good quality supplements on my own and see how it goes. If I don't notice any change I'll try calling my regular doctor to have some testing and see where that leads. And if I still have not made progress then I will consider a naturopath. Right now I want life to be "normal"...just feeling a bit better during the process. I am going to focus on really increasing magnesium and getting a good multi-mineral/vitamin supplement and see how it goes.
3. Psychologist - I will be seeing my psychologist regularly for a bit now. I'm working on some stuff with her related to parenting, purpose and stress management.
